Notes
The original owner of this building was Ambrose Burke (1850-1925). He bequeathed it to William Burke (1874-1947) and he in turn to Martin Burke (1909-1962). The twine store was then given to its fourth owner, Herbert Burke. The ownership spanned four generations of fishermen. The building was used to make and store the fishing gear necessary to take part in the traditional inshore fishery. It was also a place where a pit saw was used to saw lumber that was used to make coffins, cabinets and other household furniture.
