Notes
This stage was built on Cape Island sometime before 1940 by six White brothers, cousins and uncles who all fished together at Cape Island and Newtown. Their names were Job, Wallace, Carman, Garfield, Jabez and Thomas White. It was originally two storeys and was towed from Cape Island around 1951, when Cape Island was resettled and the original owners all moved to Newtown. The stage continued to be used as a fishing premises, where fish was cleaned, salted and stored. The upper storey was removed about 30 years ago. In more recent years it has been used for cleaning and salting fish, in the lobster fishery and for general storage.
