Mr. Charlie Randell built this stage in Hooping Harbour and later gave it to his brother Mr. Daniel Randell in trade for lumber to build a new stage. The Randell family used it as a place to land, split, clean, salt and dry cod fish. In 1969 the stage was floated from Hooping Harbour to Bide Arm under the resettlement program. Once relocated, the stage continued to be used for fishing purposes by Daniel and his children.
