Jack Wells Fishing Premises was built in 1954 by Jack Wells and his brothers Otto and Alec. It included a twine store, stage and flake. The premises was used for mending traps and nets, as a place to bait trawls, for salting fish and for storing boats. Jack Wells was even married here, as was his sister. The premises has always been a gathering place in The Battery.
