This stage was built by brothers Ronald and Silas Avery, who were assisted by carpenter Harold Lambert. Most of the materials used were salvaged from the demolition of a house owned by “Uncle” Sam Avery. The stage was used for splitting and salting turbot and for curing dried capelin. It was restored with the help of the Fisheries Heritage Preservation program in 2008.
