The Welcher Property is a good example of the type of small shed that has been used over generations to store fishing gear. Nets were also mended here and fish would be washed in the shed before being salted. Under the Fisheries Heritage Preservation Program, the Welcher Property underwent a general facelift. New roofing felt was applied, new clapboard was installed, and repairs were made to the eaves, windows and doors.
