Heritage Value
35 King’s Bridge Road has been designated a municipal heritage building by the City of St. John’s for its aesthetic value. This dwelling is aesthetically valuable because it is a fine example of the Second Empire architectural design. It features a mansard roof, one-storey bow window, dormer windows and bracketing. 35 King’s Bridge Road was the recipient of the Southcott Award in 1987.

All elements of the Newfoundland interpretation of Second Empire design including:
-Mansard roof, bow windows, dormer windows and bracketing;
-Narrow wooden clapboard;
-Size, shape, decoration and placement of windows;
-Left gable porch which is enclosed with brackets; and
-Decorative fascia board and brackets on bow windows.

The porch is located at the left gable end, it is enclosed and bracketed. Two first storey bow windows with bracketing and fascia on front facade.
