Heritage Value
The Bond Store has been designated a municipal heritage site by the Town of Woody Point due to its historic and aesthetic value.
The Bond Store has historic value because it was the building where all goods cleared customs to the Dominion of Newfoundland as they arrived aboard foreign vessels. This structure was built in the 1930s and was once located where the fishplant stands today.
The Bond Store has aesthetic value through its simplicity of design. This vernacular structure is a simply designed, functional, one storey wooden building with narrow wood clapboard, small windows, wooden doors and a flat felt covered roof.
