This building was owned by the late Frank and George Head. It was used for storing salt cod, for mending cod traps and for storing fishing gear during the winter months. Members of the Head family were among the best boat builders in the community and built many punts in this store. Before the community had a funeral home, caskets were often made in the store as well.
