This stage was built by Leander Poole and was used by both Leander and his son for cleaning and salting cod fish. At the end of the cod trapping season, they would dry the fish for market use. It was also used for cleaning salmon that was collected on a daily basis. The slipway was used to haul up the trap boat for maintenance and it was stored there for the winter. The stage was restored with the help of the Fisheries Heritage Preservation program in 2012.
