This stage was built circa 1968 by Richard Spurrell. It was used to store fishing gear and to salt and store fish. The stage was passed on to Richard’s son Hayward. It is still used to store fishing gear and during the food fishery. The property is used by many community members for any of their fishery needs. Hayward has allowed individuals to use the space to clean their fish and tie on their boats. It was restored with the help of the Fisheries Heritage Preservation program in 2008.
