Notes
From about 1948 to 1960 the stage was used by Clayton Brinston for piping and barreling herring. In 1960 it was sold to Joe Lockyer, who had resettled to Arnold’s Cove from Isle Valen. Joe used it for cleaning, splitting and salting his fish. He also tied up his motor boat at the stage and stored his fishing nets there in the winter. Joe also shortened the length of the stage. In 1985, ownership of the stage was transferred to Joe’s son Ken. It was sold to Cecil Penney in 1989 and Cecil began using the stage to store his lobster pots, crab pots and fishing nets and for tying up his boat.
