The property on which the Chubbs Stage sits was once owned by Bob Forward of Carbonear. It was purchased by Joseph Chubbs in the mid 1900s. The Chubbs family built the stage and it has been handed down through the family over three generations. The stage was used in the salt cod, herring, mackerel and salmon fisheries.
