Notes
This stage was originally owned by Luther Green and was passed down first to his son Alfred and then to his grandson Melvin. The Green family shared ownership of the stage with their relatives the Gregory family. The structure was formerly used as a twine store and was later moved closer to the shoreline. Here it was converted into a stage in the 1950s. The building was used for gutting, splitting and salting cod, which were then dried on nearby flakes. The door of the stage came from the Fishermen’s Protective Union store, which was adjacent to the stage and was torn down in the 1930s. This door is now on display in the community museum.
