This store was once owned by Billy Watton. He moved to Champney’s West from Ireland’s Eye in the 1960s as part of the resettlement program. Mr. Watton took ownership of the store and used it to mend nets and other equipment used in the fishery. Wanda Pippy acquired the store in the late 1980s and continues to use it as a storage area and a place to keep fishing gear used in the food fishery.
