Notes
In the late 1800s, this building was constructed by Elijah Alley to house his team of oxen. In later years, he used it to house a cow, horse and a few sheep. It was located at the bottom of the Church Hill on a piece of land next to Richard Gillam. In the early 1950s his son Allison Alley had Joe McInnis of the Highlands haul the building to Crabbes River Beach to be used as a shed for repairing fishing gear and building boats. After Allison’s death, the fish store was purchased by Rodney Hulan from Allison’s brother Edward Alley to be used in the fishery. Rodney Hulan sold it to Small Craft Harbours/Harbour Authority of Bay St. George South in 2006.
